But seriously!
I haven't been to an Oktoberfest beer garden party that I was truly able to experience. When I was younger my family took a trip to Germany during Oktoberfest but I wasn't able to fully enjoy it considering my age at the time. In retrospect, having taken me along kind of seems like a waste now (I really don't remember much from that trip...)
Looking at photos on the net makes me feel like i'm totally missing out! I would love to dress up in a pretty dirndl, eat and drink some delicious German food and beer, sing and dance to folk music all with a group of good friends!
OH, and look at these adorrrrrable
gingerbread heart shaped cookies!

My fiance has been to the Oktoberfest in Munich every year for the past 5 years! He loves it but I never really had an interest in going because he went with a group of 25 men, so I would have been slightly outnumbered. Plus they drank for 12 hours straight (starting at 8am) so I don't think my liver would survive!ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI use to live in europe and would visit Germany frequently.
ReplyDeleteSo this year me and my boyfriend decided to have our own little version Oktoberfest party (minus alcohol, its a family event)! It's this friday can't wait! We are doing a (root) beer run, pretzels, brats, little crafts for the kids...and thanks to you...Gingerbread cookies! thank you for posting this... I'll definately post pics on my blog!

Ohh I was in Munich earlier this year and we went to the Hirschgarten (beer garden) which was massive and packed and it wasn't even Oktoberfest!! It had such a beautiful atmosphere though- and those steins of beer are freakin' HUGE.
ReplyDeleteYap yap yap - it's really cool!
ReplyDeleteMy father lives is Germany , so i usually visit him. (: And i was in Oktoberfest two or three times - it's really great, because everyone's wearing they traditional clothes and these hearts are so delicious! (mm)
I think you must go there - you will experience an unforgettable impressions!
G'luck too yah.
And to Bonny: That hearts are made from honey, it's like honey cake. But, again, it's very delicous. And the notes on them is really funny, you can choose " my best friends", "my love", or sth. like that!
