GYARU NAILS, ALEX'S WAY

Though sometimes I wish I were able to dress as cute as Japanese Hime Gyaru girls do, I realize I'm not an adorable, petite Asian girl who's able to effortlessly pull off such an outrageously over the top fun look!
.....
To satisfy my need to add Gyaru style into my look (besides wearing my inspired jewelry) I almost always have my nails painted, shaped and styled with Gyaru nails in mind.
Here are some photos of my nails over the past couple weeks...
Though they aren't overly embellished with crystals and trinkets, I still think the length, shape and color choices (though more subtle) still make for a Hime Gyaru feel!
What do you think?
I met these adorable Japanese girls while vacationing in Honolulu. Needless to say, I ambushed them and asked to take photos of them. They were equally as excited to take pictures with me on their cameras, which totally made me feel like less of a weirdo!
They were as giggly and as friendly as they look and their nails took my breath away!

  3. EWW. This is beyond tacky and gross. Pick your nose much? You're a grown woman! No need for the crazy. Let the Asians keep there "nail trend"

  5. I would never be able to pull these off in my line of work (very conservative upscale hotel). But I do think the colors are super fun. I am not crazy about the shape because I've been such a squaround for the past 10 years, and can't imagine typing in these, but the designs are super cute. Can I just go on vacations and wear cute nailpolish instead of working? That would be great.

  6. I think they look great, if you're picking coke out of a vial and snorting it on a regular basis.

  7. wow..these comments! =/ I love these nails...when I'm in Hawai'i, I can't help but stare at all of the Japanese tourists' nails..sometimes it even extends to their pedicures! I think they're so interesting, and take so much patience and detail. Yours are definitely similar...are you using a calgel overlay?

  9. I like the purple nails and those nails of the japanese girls are sooo cute. I tried it once but find it hard to work on them though so i also took them out. I think such long nails would be ok if you dont do much chores. its pretty though.

  10. Not really a fan of it at all. Think it looks a little tacky but to each her own.

  11. The nails are amazing. Functioning with them are not. But there's always loopholes, like buying the glue ons which is what I do. It's pretty cool.

  13. Ahahah I used to have that watch that she's wearing in the last picture. My ex bought it for me at the town festival for $15, they were really popular in Texas for a while. But... I gave it away to my friend. If I had known those were popular in Japan, I would have kept it :C
