CAKE PLATES AND MILK GLASS

Because there are so many prettier ways to store your jewelry than a plain old wooden jewelry box! 

... 

Though these aren't my photos, I use similar unexpected items to store and display my jewelry. Pastel leveled cake plates, antique teacups, milk glass canisters and pretty designer boxes (like those a Chanel, or Christian Dior accessory comes packaged in) make for a beautiful jewelry storage and display. 

Slowly collect different pieces by shopping flea markets, estate sales and garage sales and over time your dresser, boudoir or wherever you keep your jewelry will transform into a delicate and feminine area where you can showcase your jeweled treasures.

SAVE LUELLA...(ESPECIALLY THE POWDER PINK DRESS)!

I just adore this perfect powder-pink, powder-puff dress by Luella. I saw a snippet of it in a spread in the recent Glamour and fell in love. Their collection has such adorable girly pieces and delicate garden party style dresses. Hopefully they they can find another backer, as theirs recently decided not to sign for another season.

AFTER TRYING ON A FEW PAIRS OF JEFFREY CAMPBELL BOOTIES TODAY, I DECIDED AGAINST THE ONES I POSTED ABOUT YESTERDAY, AND OPTED FOR THESE MORE FIERCE OPEN TOED AND STUDDED WEDGES :) 
I'M A LITTLE IFFY ABOUT THE OPEN TOE, BUT IF I WANT A CLOSED TOE LOOK I CAN ALWAYS SLIP ON BLACK NYLONS. MY INSPIRATION FOR WANTING A PAIR OF CLUNKY WEDGED BOOTIES ARE THE BCBG MENDELS. BUT, NOT ONLY ARE THEY OVER $500, AND COMPLETELY OUT OF MY PRICE RINGE, BUT THEY'RE SOLD OUT....EVERYWHERE. I THINK THE MENDEL BOOTIES AND MY STUDDED JEFFREY CAMPBELS  HAVE A SIMILAR FEEL AND AM SO EXCITED THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY $500+ FOR A PAIR OF TRENDY SHOES!

A HOLIDAY FULL WEEKEND

Wow, was this weekend a busy one, packed full of holidays! Valentines Day, Chinese New Year and President's Day! I hope everyone had a lovely holiday spending it celebrating one, or all occasions! Being the everything-Chinese-obsessed person I am.... I was excited to celebrate with a pretty pink mooncake in honor of welcoming the year of the tiger! Though, I spent Chinese New Year without my Chinese friends and so far away from China, It was very nice to spend Valentines Day with my special Valentine <3

NEVER BUY BOLD DRESSES AT REGULAR PRICES

Boldly printed and colored dresses can be easily passed up when shopping for a fun dress in fear of looking tacky; sending them directly to the clearance racks a few weeks into the season....and into my closet :) I just love finding unique pieces for a quarter of the price, even if I don't have a clue where I'm going to wear them! 

Typically, I don't incorporate bold colors or prints into my day to day outfits so when I get the chance to wear a fun dress, I'm always drawn to vibrant colors and bold prints!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I'll be going away for another weekend...This time just a short jaunt to San Diego and a day trip into Mexico! We plan on parking just before the border and walking across into Mexico, have a couple of ice cold Coronas, do some souvenir shopping and then hop back home :) I really want a small painted Mexican "Dia de Los Muertos" decorative skull. I've seen them sold in artsy parts of Los Angeles. They're so pretty and intricately painted, some  are even sprinkled with glitter. 

Wish me luck hunting down my skull ;)

I don't know why, but I dreamt up the idea of making a little hammock for Shao Shu. I'm such a weirdo...lol. At first she was a bit apprehensive but after I put her in it, she sat in it and stared at me = she liked it? >.< 
Maybe if it was pink she'd take to it better ;)
