GYARU NAILS, ALEX'S WAY

Though sometimes I wish I were able to dress as cute as Japanese Hime Gyaru girls do, I realize I'm not an adorable, petite Asian girl who's able to effortlessly pull off such an outrageously over the top fun look!
.....
To satisfy my need to add Gyaru style into my look (besides wearing my inspired jewelry) I almost always have my nails painted, shaped and styled with Gyaru nails in mind.
Here are some photos of my nails over the past couple weeks...
Though they aren't overly embellished with crystals and trinkets, I still think the length, shape and color choices (though more subtle) still make for a Hime Gyaru feel!
What do you think?
I met these adorable Japanese girls while vacationing in Honolulu. Needless to say, I ambushed them and asked to take photos of them. They were equally as excited to take pictures with me on their cameras, which totally made me feel like less of a weirdo!
They were as giggly and as friendly as they look and their nails took my breath away!

LET'S GO OUT!

THE REASONABLE AND UNREASONABLE

A few things on my wish list....
Some reasonable, some not so much....
It seems as if my wish list is never-ending and ever growing. Humph.
The YSL Arty Oval ring.
THIS multicolor LV wallet.
Initials embossed on either a light blue or light pink interior option.
A persian cat.
One that has big oogley alien looking eyes and a super squishy face...
Soon, soon, soon...
How in the world do I not own a pair of CL's?
Should be a crime.
Just the classic black pumps, please!
Dolly Winks!

SHOW AND TELL

The weekend has faithfully returned!
I'm excited for a couple nights at a boutique hotel in LA where I hope to lay out by the pool and roam the city as we please. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous and sunny, let's hope the forecasters are right! Then shopping with the best Mom a girl could have on Sunday *fun*!
Here are a few snapshots from my week that I thought were fun enough to share with you!
......
My new brown, suede, over-the-knee boots from Zara.
They were a steal in comparison to the other options I had in mind.
9.23.10's OOTD:
Light weight tunic from Bloomingdale's contemporary brand "Aqua"
Agate and ultra thick silver chain from HRH Collection
Generic black leggings
New boots from Zara
My side trip to Bottega Louie and the three ridiculously adorable tarts I gave in to....
(The raspberry tart was the best)
If you were one of the lucky ladies who ordered a La Lumiere bracelet from the second batch, then here are your bracelets, safe in their little mesh sacks and ready to be shipped to you tomorrow!
If you weren't able to order one, I have re-listed more!

ZHONG QIU JIE!

Today is Mid Autumn Festival in China!
A holiday that is observed to acknowledge the day that the moon is its biggest and brightest during the year. It's also recognized as one of the most romantic holidays; lovers spend the night together gazing at the moon. Perhaps the most traditional and anticipated aspect of the holiday are Moon Cakes...
Like Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving, the Chinese eat Moon Cakes on Mid Autumn Festival.
I'm going to celebrate by making a trip after work to a Taiwanese coffee shop for some sea salt iced coffee and a shanghai egg tart >.<
Gong xi to all of my Chinese readers!

ELIN KLING-LIKE HAIR?!

HAPPY, HAPPY FRIDAY!
For multiple reasons, this week has been particularly stressful and non-stop. Needless to say, I am so excited for the weekend!
Even though I though I thought I got enough shut-eye last night, when I woke up this morning I would have given anything for a few more hours...and the last thing I wanted to do was my hair!
For the first time since college I didn't have to "do" my hair. I brushed it out and surprisingly the usual morning cowlicks and frizz weren't there. I totally had the natural wavy, out of bed hair look that Elin Kling has!
What do you think?

CHEER UP

This week has definitely been "One of those weeks"....
Super stressed at work and just a little more than slightly exhausted. I was happy to have finished some jewelry tonight and will be sending out lots of packages tomorrow! I'm excited for you to start receiving your La Lumieres, Cocos, Gabrielles etc etc etc..... :D
So to cheer me up and to celebrate it being mid week, I want to share a few things I am very much looking forward to/ a few things I'm loving at the minute.
...
My super adorable webmaster and friend at Just Dandy recently tweeted about an uber affordable, must have faux Fur Vest from Old Navy. Though I have never been too keen on the quality and style of the Old Navy brand, I trust her judgement about this vest and stopped in on my lunch break to try it on. I love love love it and am so happy she told me about it!
I am going to make it my go-to, go-with just about anything piece for this fall/ winter.
Tucker, Tucker, Tucker.......I'm sure this is old news for everyone out there but I had to post because I was absolutely in love with the entire line available at Target now. Though the selection is dwindling (this line is enormously more fab than Zac!) I hope to be able to score a couple more pieces. I picked up this sunny colored dress which I plan to wear with crochet tights and super platform clogs in the winter. Now I need to find a few of the pretty solids too!
(Excuse the ugly target fitting room, yuk....and my face is awkward, lol!)
I am not the biggest MAC cosmetics fan and really don't own much from the brand....but I can't wait for the Venomous Villains Disney Collection to be released!
I love Disney Princesses but I love the wicked women of these classic tales equally as much! I only wish Ursula the Octopus sea witch was an inspiration for the collection too...but they made up for it with Maleficient and Cruella! lol.
If I could afford the entire collection, it would all be mine....But alas, I'm not a real life princess and will have to choose ;) All the wearable colors will definitely be coming home with me! BTW, who is that ugly man villain they used in the collection, what a waste! :(

...These are my choices...

NEON, AGATE AND LUCITE

Lately I have been drawn to monochromatic tones...
Nudes, blacks, silvers etc and mixing them with pops of neon.    I designed some new pieces using high polished black agate, thicker silver chains, silver pearls and unique bright lucite and stones, but didn't derive much from my signature classic style, making it easy to mix and match nearly all of my necklaces together!
Layering chain necklaces of different colors, gauges and styles makes for an effortless fashionable look.

BACK FROM HONOLULU AND MINX NAILS!

The red eye flight back from Honolulu to Los Angeles was the only part of my vacation that I could complain about.
My girlfriends and I had an AMAZING time and even though we all live within a half hour of each other, I miss not waking up and spending the day with them!
The week was filled with perfect tropical- sunny weather, girl time and Mai Tais on the beach!
The trip was definitely a success!
OK,  also....
Can any of you ladies out there tell me a little about "Minx" nails? I am planning on getting my toes done like the photo below but would really appreciate if someone can tell me the cost, how long it takes, how long the color lasts etc...xoxo
