HI GIRLS!

I hope you didn't forget about me! 

It's been a crazy busy week, and on top of it all I'm leaving for San Francisco on Friday. 

I've been apartment hunting ever since my raise and news that our office is relocating...but have been kinda "mehh" about the apartments I've toured. Just this past weekend I came across a complex in a fantastic downtown-like area with lots of walkable restaurants and shopping! I scored on a top floor unit with a great balcony, lots of light and great positioning :) I'm super happy, just funny the way everything seems to happen at once! 

HIGHLIGHT of MY WEEK:

I am admittedly super picky, especially when it comes to style and quality. I would rather wait and save for something I'm lusting over than settle for a similar version and regret it later.... 

So, I have been looking for a couch for my living room. 

The elements must include: Overstuffed, white, large cushions with tailored slip covers (for easy washing). Ikea's three seat "Ektorp" was exactly what I have been looking for, but I was so not going to pay $500. 

I love the hunt, so before I even start through Ikea's immaculate showrooms, I pop into their "As is" section and see if by chance they have what I'm looking for. After work one night I stopped in, and was taken aback. It was like a light from above was shining down on a raggedy looking Ektorp. Aside from the slip cover being next to demolished, the couch was in perfect condition and marked down to less than half! All it needed was a new slip cover...

Needless to say, luck was on my side that night!

I LOVE HAVING FUN WEEKENDS TO LOOK FORWARD TO, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE DESTINATION ISNT TO FAR BUT FAR ENOUGH.

I love dry desert weather while laying out under a shady umbrella with an ice cold cocktail and knowing my skin is turning that brown sugar color....

Palm Springs, CA is a favorite weekend spot where my mom and I love to relax and be total GIRLS for one weekend out of the year. Though we haven't been back in a few years, so it's definitely time for some splurging! 

The Parker, designed by Jonathan Adler couldn't be in a better location. I've been swooooooning over this one of a kind hotel and can't wait to soak up all its unique beauty! 

PS. Hermes soap in the bathroom and Moroccan Wedding Blankets on the beds? oohh ya.

For crisp weather, some big city action and a stay at one of my favorite hotels. I love this city for it's food, diversity, shopping and the fact that it's only an hour plane ride away makes it so much more doable!

BARE MINERALS: 

The gorgeous LisalisaD1 from YouTube turned me onto these three products after I watched her video on bronzing. I purchased these today and can't wait to use them tomorrow! Has anyone used any of these products and what are your opinions?

LEBKUCHEN: 

German gingerbread in an adorable Hansel and Gretel gingerbread house box.(My mom bought them for me from a local German Deli as well as some of my favorite german salami called Pick)

RIMMEL: 

Lash accelerator mascara with avec grow- lash complex that says is clinically proven to lengthen your lashes 117% in 30 days!? Has anyone tested this mascara out for 30 days? What were your results? I'm excited!

FOREVER 21: Lace tights and knit olive sweater

BRANDY MEVILLE: Chanel tank top.(A new Italian tee shirt brand I stumbled across in LA today with super functional tops. I couldn't pass up this tank...How awesome is that script?)

NINA SHOES: I ordered these open toed, leopard wedges over two months ago and they finally arrived this Friday! Trying to see how they'll fit in my wardrobe.  

MY SPOILED BLYTHE!

I ordered her lots of new outfits and a gorgeous new wig from here! I've ordered all of my Blythe accessories from this site in the past and love everything I have ever chosen. Here are a few shots of my ever photogenic and oh so lovely little girl :)

P.S. I've been looking to customize my Blythe. I'm thinking, long whispy eyelashes, eyeshadow and new eye chips. But, the only sites I've found are booked for a while and offered to put me on a wait list but I'm impatient :(

MATTE NEON LIPS

THE INSPIRATION:

I love this new neon lip color trend, and can tell it's going to be super IN for Spring 2011!

But, I'm impatient and can't wait six months for spring to come so I'm jumping right in!

 I haven't been looking for my perfect neon pink lipstick yet but knew I had a variety of colors in my collection I could experiment with to create a similar look.  

I recently bought a couple new Revlon lip-stains. One is definitely wearable (Twilight) and the other (Flame) is FIERCE and is a deep, neon, coraly orange hue. I thought If I mixed that with a very pigmented, bright pink it could work.

HERE'S WHAT I CAME UP WITH:

(START WITH BARE LIPS)

CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY LINE AND FILL IN LIPS WITH LIP STAIN

WITH YOUR FINGERTIP, TAKE ONLY A SMALL SWIPE OF THE POT ROUGE 

APPLY THE POT ROUGE IN A PATTING MOTION RATHER THAN SMEARING IT

TA DAH!

THOUGH, I THINK THE COLOR IN THE FIRST PHOTO WAS MORE ACCURATE :)

 I remember them being super popular in China and hadn't had one since.....Until we randomly stumbled upon one this weekend!
