SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MY WAY

Many of my subbies have gathered that I live in southern California. It's a beautiful and diverse area with amazing weather. 
Very often I receive emails from my readers asking what I would recommend on their visit. 
Here are MY suggestions...which I have broken down into three large cities...that pretty much break down most of Southern California. 
I hope this helps those of you who have trips planned to visit sunny CA! 
Having too much fun...Pool Party in Hollywood
SAN DIEGO: 
San Diego is known for their beaches, but what I love San Diego for is the partying!
NIGHT CLUB: Fluxx and Voyeur (Both located Downtown)
DAY PARTIES: Intervention at the Hard Rock hotel. Wavehouse in Mission Beach.
BARS: 207 located in the Hard Rock hotel. 
HOTELS: Hard Rock and the Manchester Grand Hyatt.  
ORANGE COUNTY: 
SHOP: South Coast Plaza for some intense shopping and Fashion Island for lovely shops in an outdoor setting. Long Beach Airport for my favorite swap meet. 
EAT: My favorite restaurant and the best junk Mexican food, El Torito. Mastros Ocean Club for butter cake dessert. Crow Bar for a glass of wine and S'mores dessert. 85 Degree Cafe for sea salt coffee and Chinese bread. 
LAGUNA BEACH: Royal Hawaiian restaurant for a delish drink called the "Lapu Lapu". The Rooftop Bar and Las Brisas for Guacamole and a beautiful sunset. Their many intimate cove shored beaches.
LOS ANGELES:
SHOP: The Grove, Robertson drive, Third street promenade. 
EAT: Bottega Louie. 
ETC: The Getty museum, Royal T, Rollerblading through Venice Beach. 
HOTELS: SLS, The Viceroy and The Roosevelt or Drai's for fun daytime pool parties.

  7. Hey I've seen a few of your blog posts about San Francisco and I'm going there to work for three months this summer with a group of my friends...could you do a post similar to this about San Fran?? That'd be really great! Love your blog! x

  8. Have to love SoCal. Im in OC and practically live in LA. Thanks for the tips on SD i rarely ever go there! I would also add Javiers Newport Coast and True Foods at Fashion island in OC. Cecconis and Pizzeria Mozza are two of my favorites in LA. Ive been to Chruch and state but not bottega Louie yet...ill have to check that one out. xo

  12. It is raining in Boston and I am so jealous of that picture!! LoL. I would LOVE to go to Cali, looks like lots of fun.

    On a side note... I follow this great blog that has great recipes (made a shrimp avocado quesadilla last night). I thought these recipes are so your taste!! Check it out if you get some free time!!

  18. GREAT post! Do you think you can take more pictures of Bao Bao? We have a bunny of 9 weeks in our home right now and I just love her and I will definitely visit those places when I go to Cali again!
