OOPS I DID IT AGAIN

WE HAVE A GRADUATION OF SORTS, FOR MY BROTHER THIS COMING WEEKEND. MY MOM ASKED ME TO MAKE A QUICK TRIP TO THE MALL TO HELP HER FIND SOMETHING FOR THE OCCASION. WE FOUND A PERFECT TAILORED OUTFIT FROM ZARA, MY GO-TO STORE FOR QUALITY TAILORED PIECES. 

SHE'S GOING TO LOOK AMAZING!

ON OUR WAY OUT, I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULDN'T LOOK IN BLOOMINGDALE'S CHANEL BOUTIQUE. 

BUT THAT DEFINITELY DID NOT HAPPEN

LONG STORY SHORT, I EXCHANGED THE PINK JUMBO FLAP FOR MY BELOVED ALMOND (BEIGE) WITH GOLD HARDWARE JUMBO FLAP. 

IT WAS DEFINITELY THE RIGHT DECISION BUT I'VE LONGED FOR A PINK CHANEL EVER SINCE... AFTER TONIGHT, MY HEART CAN REST <3 ;)

I always say my little place is constantly evolving.

There's always room for improvement.  

I rearrange and find new uses for things...constantly. 

I've recently found a few things at random flea markets that I had to share and am so excited that my self-refurbished bar cart is almost finished! 

...

My mom spotted this original Chanel perfume bottle...I gasped!

 The dealer wouldn't budge on the $20 tag but she was too precious to pass up. 

A once empty wall in my kitchen is no longer. 

This large, Chinoiserie hand painted silk is exactly what I was looking for. It doesn't even need to be reframed. 

The original mirrored frame is just what I would have chosen. 

A peek at my bar cart: 

I was being super picky about what kind of ice bucket it needed. I saw plenty of crystal, cut glass and ones with funky 1960's patterns but I didn't want to settle on one that wasn't perfect. After a few months, I found this metallic silver color glass ice bucket and matching metallic ombre glasses. 

Perfection.  

REGROUPING

Last week was one of those frantic type weeks where each day was literally consumed by the ticking clock... 

Luckily I had Friday to look forward to, my Birthday :) 

One of my besties Heather, planned everything...from the venue to the cake! 

She special ordered an ultra girly princess cake with sparkly pink frosting, edible crowns and "HRH Alexandra" prettily piped <3 

We celebrated a bit with some bubbly at my place before we headed out for birthday festivities. 

It was a late but super successful and fun night! 

I love you girls!

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MY WAY

Many of my subbies have gathered that I live in southern California. It's a beautiful and diverse area with amazing weather. 
Very often I receive emails from my readers asking what I would recommend on their visit. 

Here are MY suggestions...which I have broken down into three large cities...that pretty much break down most of Southern California. 

I hope this helps those of you who have trips planned to visit sunny CA! 

Having too much fun...Pool Party in Hollywood

SAN DIEGO: 

San Diego is known for their beaches, but what I love San Diego for is the partying!

NIGHT CLUB: Fluxx and Voyeur (Both located Downtown)

DAY PARTIES: Intervention at the Hard Rock hotel. Wavehouse in Mission Beach.

BARS: 207 located in the Hard Rock hotel. 

HOTELS: Hard Rock and the Manchester Grand Hyatt.  

ORANGE COUNTY: 

SHOP: South Coast Plaza for some intense shopping and Fashion Island for lovely shops in an outdoor setting. Long Beach Airport for my favorite swap meet. 

EAT: My favorite restaurant and the best junk Mexican food, El Torito. Mastros Ocean Club for butter cake dessert. Crow Bar for a glass of wine and S'mores dessert. 85 Degree Cafe for sea salt coffee and Chinese bread. 

LAGUNA BEACH: Royal Hawaiian restaurant for a delish drink called the "Lapu Lapu". The Rooftop Bar and Las Brisas for Guacamole and a beautiful sunset. Their many intimate cove shored beaches.

LOS ANGELES:

SHOP: The Grove, Robertson drive, Third street promenade. 

EAT: Bottega Louie. 

ETC: The Getty museum, Royal T, Rollerblading through Venice Beach. 

HOTELS: SLS, The Viceroy and The Roosevelt or Drai's for fun daytime pool parties.  

FLIP FLOP

My little place is a never ending project. 

I'm constantly rearranging and switching nik naks around to make little improvements.

 I've recently found some decor pieces at various swap meets and added them into my collection...

Here's a peek: 

I absolutely LOVE this enormous, vintage, sweet faced brass deer statue. 

She's intricately carved with beautiful adornments that look like jewelry....You know I'm loving that!

She's just so chic and statuesque. 

 Black "milk glass" is rare and pricy. I found this little Greek key edged pot(above)in a $5 bin, so I'm not positive it's milk glass....But it ties in my Chinese style lacquer box so well.

... 

The little milk glass table lighter (above) is so glam...I can just see beautifully dressed post war women leaning over to have their cigarettes lit while sipping on mint juleps <3

...

I saw these adorable gold striped painted cups at a swap meet a month or so ago and passed them up because they 're different sizes. When I came across them again I snatched them up. 

For now, they look adorable holding little tea lights...But who knows what I'll be using them for next week :) 

Did anyone make getting your Moroccan Pouf a priority on Sunday morning? 

I certainly did! 

In all honesty, I was expecting Target's Calypso collection to be as BLAH as so many of their other hyped up past collections were. I decided I was just going to  bite the bullet and opt for a legit Moroccan Pouf if Target's fell short. 

Needles to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and took one home. Yes the shape is different, it's much lighter in weight and is faux leather but It's a very  close version and for less than 1/3 of the price.
