A medley of photos from my trip and of the little treasures I shared in my most recent video :) I had a fabulous vacation spending time with my best Swedish friend, Johanna. We visited our favorite spots from our time we spent in the bustling city a few years ago, and explored new ones. SHOPPING, brunch on the bund, Muslim Chinese food, dumplings, noodles and finally my absolute favorite, traditional Szechuan style eggplant! We pretty much ate our way thru the city lol.
Until out next reunion, fingers crossed....a visit to Sweden!
Zaijian, Shanghai!

love your nails! have you ever gone to Marie nails? i heard they do a great job too and aren't too expensive
ReplyDeleteim also in love with your MCM bag... i've never actually seen one before but the shape, color & quality of yours makes it look not only practical & functional to carry around but so chic too!
btw i entirely agree with you in regards to high-end/designer shopping. especially in West LA, most sales associates have a stick up their asses & seem to think they're better than you... such a turn off. it's okay, they're just bitter about their jobs and upset they're 30+ and still working as sales associates.
Love the video and pics - your new bag, wallet & key holder are lush
ReplyDeletenails are amazing. you should do a tutorial on them.

I loved the video! The honest anger that came through about Miu Miu was great! Haha That is really stupid, I can't believe that would even happen. Reminds me of pretty women. UGH!

omg alex you are SOOO freakin' ADORABLE!!! when you were getting mad about the miu miu SP i could not help but smile because you were getting so angry!! haha but i totally know what you mean.. i swear SP's at name brand stores are so snooty it's like "HELLO why are you so snooty you work here!! and i'm the one shopping here!" i know that sounds kinda b*tchy.. but hello it's the truth. anyways those sunnies look super fabulous on you! <3 u!!!
ReplyDeleteI love a good rant? You go girl!
ReplyDeleteHi Alex! I love your blog and your channel! I always get so happy when you do a new post! Wish you did more. I was wondering if you had your meet up in Shanghai? How did it go? Bet there were more people then you thought. I am visiting LA in February for my birthday (which is on February 8), you wouldn't by chance be having a meet up around that time? I would love to say hi:)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, Love your videos!!...and I'm with you when it comes to seeing the same handbags and shoes all over the blogsphere!!! I'm always looking for unique pieces that make me happy and I enjoy wearing. Neiman's use to sell MCM years ago but it was in a camel and brown color combination with the black letters...it didn't really catch on because it had the same price point as LV and of course everyone was going for LV...I think the color you have is very unique and I've never seen it in that color way...Keep doing you! :)

Loved the video - Shanghai sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky you got to go during Chinese New Year! It has always been my dream to go during the new year!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that guy at Miu Miu had the nerve to treat you that way! I'd be furious, too! I think sometimes salespeople at designer boutiques think they're supposed to be above the customers or something - it's so odd. Trying to perpetuate the "unavailability" of designer goods, but really anybody can afford them if it is important to them. Oh well, I like them on your head, they really do look fabulous ^.^
ReplyDeleteHey Alex! Weird question but how do you keep your white iPhone white&clean? On the sides of my iphone and around the home button theres some lint forming (its darker) i guess...do you have any tips how to keep it clean? I know this is random...haha nice pics xx
ReplyDeletelove you and your videos!!
ReplyDeleteyou're nails are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute photos! Those glitter nails are fabulous :)

marie nails definitely does the same type of nail treatment. they build the cal gel onto your nail to add length and do a great job with glitter and/or color gradation. around $40...
ReplyDeletelovely pictures :) x
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a culinary adventure!!! and fun!

Ahhh, I've been waiting for this post! I love everything you bought there right down to what you are wearing! Just to let you know, those Chinese tassel things are called zhong guo jie (literally, Chinese knots) -- at least that's what I call them.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, could you please do a post on how you organize your closet? It's hard for me to store nice shoes, esp boots, and handbags without them getting ruined OR taking up too much space. Well, please think about it! Thanks and :) and <3
What a cool trip! Looks like you had a lot of fun. Btw, what exactly is Muslim Chinese food? And be careful using so many whitening products on your face! That can't be safe to do long term. xx Lexi
ReplyDeleteGreat blog and great style!
ReplyDeleteLove the nails!:-) M.

Hi Alex! A while ago you did a July favourites on YouTube where you mentioned a nail polish by Orly in a color "going to the chapel. I can't get it here (in Vancouver) but am visiting LA next week for my birthday. Could you please tell me where I could buy it? I'd like to wear it on my celebration. Thanks!

Hi Alex :)
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if you could tell me where you got that gorgeous lampshade with the geometric patterned base? I'm in Australia and hoping to redecorate - ideally by finding a stockist for that lamp base somewhere near me.
Much love from Sydney!!

Hey Alex..Wo Ai ni!

Your post(s)on China/ Shanghai have really inspired me to go someday! Love all the trinkets you bought and your beautiful, perfect sparkly nails!Whenever I travel to Paris (where I studied abroad in college) I love to pick up French magazines and go to the french pharmacy to load up french cosmetics, skin care, etc.
ReplyDeleteThose sparkly nails are FANTASTIC. Looks like a great trip.
ReplyDelete$100 Shopbop GIVEAWAY
where did you go to school in shanghai???
ReplyDeleteI LOVED watching your video about your trip to Shanghai. Your story about the rude Miu Miu employee was really ironic given that you are incredibly beautiful and many women would love to be as pretty as you. I'm glad you finally were able to get those sunglasses. They are very pretty. You have a great blog and videos!
ReplyDeleteI love that MCM bag! When I was 15 I got a wrist watch by MCM and it still is one of my favourite watches! It´s the quality and how it looks and feels.
