I agree with Jessica...barrel done, Once the curl has cooled gently tug at the end to soften the curl. Check out Stephani's blog...you'll love her quick & easy tutorial!! http://blog.hairandmakeupbysteph.com/2012/04/how-to-fake-natural-curl.html
Great vid, I also agree with Jessica. I think if you do it with the barrel downward and curl the hair away from your face it will give you those kim K waves that all go in the same direction. That's how I do mine and I never have to redo a section.
Love your videos , so inspirational! I am a hairdresser and wanted to give a tip for finger wave inspired hair (i think thats what you were describing). Instead of curling everything back, try curling everything forward (I know this sounds strange but trust). It might be easier to curl using the curling irons clip instead of wrapping it around for this look but you can do either to achieve it. Once you've curled everything forward brush it out , this makes your hair look like one big wave rather than individual curls. Play around with a side part to match the look and voila! You'll have a beautiful roaring 20's inspired look. Hope this helps and makes sense! Xo, Tatiana
also a little tip with curling, just regular everyday curls. always go away from your face and always have the iron pointing towards the ground. the most important thing to have symmetric curls is this: SWITCH HANDS! if you are right handed hold the iron in your right hand while curling the left side of your head and hold the iron in your left hand when curling the right side of your face. (switch those if you are left handed) it makes it much easier to have them all going away from your face. also, you're not left with that one side that looks awesome and a weird flat side.
I think your hair and makeup looks so gorgeous here! You should wear eyeshadow more often, and you definitely suit longer hair I think over the short hair (even though that looked very cute as well!)
I was so excited to see that this video is over 20 minutes and that you're wearing eye shadow! Your new hair and make-up look is gorgeous, I love how it's glamorous and natural at the same time.
I just discovered your blog and HRH collection today. I loved watching this video - you make me want my long hair back! I've been using the YSL Touch Eclat foundation and will likely not buy it again. I think my skin is too oily for it. However, I've been using the Touche Eclat pen for years and love it!I look forward to checking out more of your site and ordering a bracelet (or two).
A class act, Alex. Congrats for being brave and using eyeshadow. It looks beautiful I wanted to let you know my beau gave me pretty jewelry pieces from your collection and made me sooo happy. J'adore!!!! Many good wishes for the new year.
I love the video!! :)
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
The Cabinet Of Fashion blog
Try it with the barrel of the curling iron facing down instead of up. That's how I do mine and they're pretty uniform:)
ReplyDeleteI love the video.
