I love the idea of the Isabel Marant wedge sneakers but wasn't sure I could really pull them off. I was afraid they would shorten my legs and make them appear stumpy. I looked around my area for boutiques who carried them, but after a couple weeks of being told they were sold out/ they have a waiting list, I became discouraged. I was also nervous about investing in a pair to only have them end up unworn and sitting in my closet. I don't by any means support knock off designer goods, but when I came across these at Target, I decided to pick them up so that I could play with them to see whether or not getting on a wait list and investing in such a trendy pair of shoes was worth it.
I was a bit ashamed to wear them out at fist (lol), but I really love them!
As soon as Im able to find the black Isabel Marant wedge sneakers in my size, Im in!

I love your bag :) great post
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, i totally know what you mean. I had this exact dilemma and opted for the target brand to try them out. to my surprise, they're super comfy too! Still trying to figure out how to wear them just right....i love your outfit, thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteHi Alex!! You are amazing. I really love your style. Great mix of leather and lace. :)
ReplyDeleteI wore my Ultra Luxe bracelet today. Every time I wear it, I ALWAYS get compliments. Seriously, your jewelry has such amazing quality. I'm thankful that one of my best buddies gifted me that piece for Christmas. I'm still contemplating what I should get next. :)
I love the wedge sneaker trend, but am weary about spend a good chunk of change on a pair... although I have been drooling over Ms. Marant's since they first debuted. The hubby did buy me a pair of wedge sneak a la Jeffrey Campbell. They have spikes and everything. But now, I'd love to get a pair that's more versatile. Anyhoo, I wanted to know how the sizing is on this Target pair? (we don't have Target on Maui, errrr, so I'll have to get them online). Does it run true to size?

I don't blame you feeling "bad" about wearing these, is that why there is no close-up shot of them? lol I am like you, I am not sold on trendy sneakers.....I am patiently waiting for this trend to fades :p
ReplyDeleteLoved the video Alex! The sneakers are great, wedge sneakers in general give you the extra height and don't make your legs look stumpy!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I really like the sneakers from Target and think they're a great alternative. You really can't beat the price and I don't think you should be ashamed to wear them because every brand is designing their own high top wedge sneakers. You look great in them and I love the mix of chambray and lace in your shirt!

I don't think you be ashamed at all. I have decided that I'm no longer spending money on trendy pieces and I consider these sneakers a trendy piece. Don't get me wrong, I adore these sneakers, but I don't know about the price. So spending 35.00 dollars on a trend compared to 600.00 is a no brainer. This is completely my opinion.

I really agree -- when this trend first came out I was really turned off by it. But then I got some cheapie wedge sneakers -- and I REALLY like them.
ReplyDeleteLoving the way you styled yours today, Alex. Could you at all comment on the sizing of the Guess shirt? Thank you!
